Department in which the Intern will be working Journalism

Job/Task Description 1

The intern will be working on our two monthly print magazines and daily websites for ChinaTechNews.com, ChinaFranchiser.com, ChinaCSR.com, SinoLinx.com, ChinaHospitalityNews.com.

Job/Task Description 2

He/She will be responsible for the editorial, writing and management of our online and printing publications. We focus on Business and CSR topics in China.

Job/Task Description 3

The intern will work directly with the company's Managing Partner and Managing Editor in Shanghai. He/She will be visiting clients and interviewing them.

Job/Task Description 4

We expect the intern to be prepared for lots of research and ability to learn many of China's latest Business and CSR moves. He/she will be producing daily news briefing on various topics.

Job/Task Description 5

The intern must assist Chinese staff with English-Chinese translations. He/she will be also designing on Photoshop, Publisher and Adobe InDesign

We are aiming to provide an opportunity for a foreign intern to experience Shanghai in a challenging working environment.

If the performance of the intern is acceptable and if the intern's Chinese has reached a good level there is a high probability to receive an offer for a longer term position

4. Other Conditions:The intern will work in the Shanghai office with one other foreigner, American, and 4 local Chinese staff. Office language is usually spoken Mandarin, but everybody speaks good English. Our office in Shanghai is located in the very center of the city, one block from Nanjing Lu and the Shanghai Centre

Additional information which a potential candidate may require for the internship
The intern should have excellent understanding of journalism/literature and the ability to construct sound English-language sentences. He/she must love to write, and must learn to do so quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Knowledge of Chinese or Chinese modern culture is a major plus, but other knowledge of any business sector or passion of learning is also good. Must be able to present one's self well when visiting business conferences or interviews. Must also enjoy relaxing, as that is a good complement to working hard and learning copious amounts of new things.
